The Grom Shorts Surf Film Fest is a unique opportunity for young filmmakers aged 18 and under to showcase their talent on the big screen, connect with industry pros, & learn through exclusive masterclasses.
Supported by Camera House and Canon, in collaboration with the Sunshine Coast Screen Collective, Grom Shorts invites all levels of young filmmakers to bring their vision to life.
About the Competition
Create your own surf-themed short film for the chance to see it screened at Noosa Event Cinemas on Saturday, 21 June 2025. This festival celebrates creativity, providing young filmmakers with tools, tips, and inspiration from industry professionals.

Colour Grading with Warren Eagles
Warren, an international colourist based on the Sunshine Coast, has worked on commercials for Qantas, Ford, and films like Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Learn the art of colour correction from an expert who transforms visuals for maximum impact.

2. Submit Online:

Deadline is 22 March 2025
3. Get Screened:
Finalists will be announced in early June, with selected films screened and celebrated at the festival.
